The front desk

214 Larkin Street, since 1987

Dogear opened in 1987 in what used to be a hat shop, which is why the ceilings are so high and the shelves so tall. We sell new books in the front, used and rare in the middle, and host readings in the back room most weeks. The cat is called Margins. Please don’t feed her bookmarks.
